The Wild Experience
“To be wild is to be completely open to the unknown and not attached to how anything is going to turn out and be ok with it.”
Hi, I’m Alexa… or Lexy (Thanks Amazon). I am a 500-hour RYT, yacht chef, and entrepreneur. Although I’m not holding weekly classes like I used to on Bequia, you can still practice with me on a retreat! You can check out my upcoming schedule in the ‘Retreat’ tab or click here.
Through my many travels since leaving New York City in 2018 I have had the opportunity to expand my understanding of yoga with teachers around the globe from numerous islands across the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, Australia, and India. This in turn has informed my own practice and teachings drawing from Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Katonah yoga, Chinese medicine, and somatic movement.
As a wellness entrepreneur turned chef, I have a deep passion for food as medicine and how it nourishes us from the inside out. Drawing from my hometown of New York City, international travels, and multicultural heritage, my menu blends a diverse array of cultures, flavors, and textures to create a gastronomic experience. Some of the best memories are shared around the table with good wine, good food, and good company!

Lexy is an excellent teacher. Our retreat group with Eat Pray Move had the privilege of having her every morning for our yoga sessions in Croatia. Her sessions were energizing and fun and also appreciated the meditations and words of wisdom she ended the classes with.

Alexa is a thoughtful and gifted yoga teacher. She takes time to make sure everyone in her class feels comfortable and supported while also keeping the class as a whole moving together toward wellness. She designs her classes to accommodate differing needs and yoga skill levels which ensures that everyone leaves her class with a personal sense of balance, confidence and accomplishment. In addition, Alexa is a lovely person who is engaging and interesting. She is well traveled and she is open to new ideas and experiences, which makes her a great addition to any group. As a yoga teacher and as an individual, Alexa is a gem!

I recently had the opportunity to have a private yoga lesson with Alexa. I am a novice yoga practitioner and have attended many different types of classes, but never had the luxury of a private lesson. Alexa’s general easy going style ability to break down the poses simply and clearly helped fill in some missing pieces in my practice. The aromatherapy and gentle massage in savasana was deeply relaxing and pleasant. I highly recommend getting deeper into your practice with a private lesson with Alexa.

I don’t know if it was sheer luck but I found Alexa’s [Instagram] page and decided to inquire about classes. She was very polite in responding and getting me all set and scheduled for my first class which I was a mixture of excited and nervous about. I didn’t know what to expect. She welcomed me into her home, we got introductions out the way, and we began the session. As she guided me through we laughed and giggled when I would lose my balance here and there, but she guided me reassuringly every step of the way. IT WAS AMAZING. I didn’t expect the peace I felt after completing the class. It was as though a huge weight was lifted from my being. Since then I’ve been [regularly] scheduling classes. I can now do a Crow pose *cues applause*. 10/10 Would recommend it. The sessions are worth it and Alexa is super friendly. Just an all-around beautiful soul.

I was only able to do yoga with Alexa twice while I was on a recent vacation in Bequia, but next time I’ll make it a priority to go every day! She couldn’t be any more lovely! #namaste

I was fortunate enough to take class with Alexa while she was in Brooklyn. She is one of the best instructors I have taken a yoga class with! She is intentional in her practice and provides individualized attention to every single person in the class. My only complaint is that she isn't in New York enough!

Alexa has found her calling in Yoga and is truly knowledgeable about her practice. Anyone who is lucky enough to attend one of her classes knows how much preparation and care has gone into each class. She is encouraging and supportive throughout the practice. Alexa takes the time to provide adjustments, and encouragement without pushing too hard. During the class, there is a good balance between visual demonstration and spoken instruction. I always feel comfortable and welcome. Do yourself a favor and attend one of Alexa’s classes, I promise you won't regret it!

I was fortunate to have a class with Alexa in Bequia, the Grenadines. She is the real deal! Wonderfully prepared, in tune to your limits while boosting your flexibility. I highly recommend seeking out a class with Alexa, Wild Thing Wellness!

Spoken from a newbie to yoga, I found Alexa’s bend and brunch class enjoyable, relaxing, and an escape from the every day pressures of life. Alexa is an amazing instructor; her encouragement kept me motivated and her easy to follow instructions kept me flowing with her intimate class. Alexa provided gentle adjustments to help with my poses and I appreciated her support throughout the entire class. As an added bonus, her massage with essential oils towards the end felt incredible, I didn’t want it to end. I highly encourage others to take her class both beginners and advanced.... I know I’ll be back for sure!

I took a class with Alexa in Brooklyn and absolutely loved it! She creates a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere where you feel encouraged and supported to try new things, as well as just chill out. I loved that she asked us to say hi to our mat neighbor, fostering a wonderful sense of connection to those around you that is missing in many NYC classes. I recommend her class to anyone, both beginners and seasoned yogis!

I am a newcomer to yoga and recently took several of Alexa’s classes in Bequia. I was fortunate to also experience two private sessions during this time. Alexa is a skilled instructor with solid teaching skills. Her communication is excellent and her style is inclusive, friendly and welcoming. The breathing, meditation, and poses all felt good for my 50+ year old body. There was a nice balance of being challenged and also knowing what my limits were and being provided with multiple options for poses. The small details also made the class a joy. All of the gear was provided, the location and music enhanced the experience, and the essential oil/face massage component was an unexpected gift. I have been hooked now and look forward to continuing my practice. Many thanks, Alexa.

Alexa is a fun, knowledgeable yoga instructor who seems to make everyone in her class feel extremely comfortable. She's great at encouraging us to listen to our body, and always provides alternatives to each pose. And her essential oil head massages are definitely the cherry on top! Thanks, Alexa!
